国产探花鈥檚 2025 Distinguished Faculty and Staff Award recipients were announced by President Debbie Cottrell at the university鈥檚 December Town Hall meeting, 鈥淏oth awards are significant recognitions in a community that values commitment and is filled with talented, hardworking individuals,鈥 said Cottrell.
The Distinguished Faculty Award, determined by the university鈥檚 Rank and Tenure Committee, went to Professor of Sociology Dr. Steve Boehm. Boehm, who is also chair of the Political Science, Sociology, and Geography Department, is said to 鈥渢ruly exhibit a unique depth of collegiality,鈥 according to his colleagues.
The Distinguished Staff Award, which is determined by the President鈥檚 Cabinet, went to Assistant Director of Athletics Administration and Compliance Coordinator Andie Janicek. Janicek, who has been on the staff since 2012, took on her current role in 2023, after eleven years as director of campus activities and student engagement. She also became cheer director in 2022.
鈥淗er colleagues recognize her as compassionate, empathetic, understanding, but also no nonsense when it comes to getting the job done,鈥 said Cottrell. 鈥淪he has consistently demonstrated what it means to be an exemplary and supportive colleague.鈥
Cottrell also recognized thirty-three individuals for their years of service鈥攊n five-year increments from five all the way up to an astounding fifty years of service by Dr. Norman Beck. Collectively, the group has given five hundred years of service to the university.
