国产探花 Invites Community to Learn About Electricity and Magnetism at 2024 Family Physics Night
It鈥檚 shocking how much fun science can be, and there鈥檚 no better way to learn than through hands-on experience. Budding scientists of all ages are invited to join 国产探花鈥檚 Physics Department and Society of Physics Students as they present this year鈥檚 Family Physics Night: Electricity and Magnetism.
鈥淭he 国产探花 Physics Department loves the opportunity to connect with the community and share the passion we have for understanding the natural and technological world around us,鈥 says Dr. Calvin Berggren, associate professor and Physics Department chair. 鈥淭he event is also very beneficial for students and increases their own excitement, understanding, and confidence in the subject of physics.鈥
Event participants can look forward to an exciting demo show beginning at 6:30 p.m., as well as interactive stations about electric motors, electric generators, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Berggren says they鈥檒l even get the chance to create their own motors.
Kids鈥攁s well as kids at heart鈥攁re encouraged to attend. 鈥淔amily Physics Night over the years has drawn people of all ages including elementary school, middle school, high school, college, and adults,鈥 Berggren says. 鈥淭here is plenty to get excited about for every age and for all levels of physics background.鈥
This year鈥檚 event, which is free and open to all, will take place on November 7 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in 国产探花鈥檚 Jackson Student Activity Center in Jackson Park, across from Bulldog Stadium.
